Croissant D’or
617 Ursulines Ave, New Orleans, LA 70116
Hours: 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. ; Closed on Tuesdays
This is another place that’s been in the Quarter as long as I can remember. I used to get lunch every day from here when I worked at a coffee shop on Royal Street.
A lot of these old French bakeries in New Orleans have a twist to them. New Orleans has always been a melting pot of various nationalities combined with New Orleans flavors. So, don’t expect France when you walk through the doors. With that being said, things change over time, but this has always been a locals’ cafe. Still a good place to stop in for a light meal and coffee for a decent price when walking around the Quarter.
They also serve lunch items along with pastries. Sandwiches on croissant average around $8.50 to $9.50, and on Baguette bread for $10. Their chicken salad on croissant has always been a long time fave of mine.
Desserts are around $4.50 per slice and a small fruit cup on the healthier side for the same price. They also have wi-fi available if you need to get some work done, but this is a busy cafe at times so please be mindful.
